The Vision and Purpose of BCC

E-mail Print PDF

To call everyone to Christ-centered living and laboring for God’s greater glory.

How will we do this?

Our vision is our GUIDE

GGain others
UUnder the power of the HS
IInstructing them to imitate Christ
DDiscipling them to disciple others
EExpand the kingdom of God

Our values are what FEED us:

FFaith in a God of the impossible
EExpectancy that God will work through us
EExcellence in all we do
DDevelopment in personal growth/learning

Our goals are what give us our FOCUS:

FForward thinking
OOutside our limits
CClear and concrete
UUphold our vision and values
SSimply stated

Our process should produce DEPTH:

DDiscipleship
EEvangelism
PPrayer
TTransferable tools
HHoly Spirit dependence

In other words, we exist to evangelize the world (Mt. 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; John 4:35), to bring individual believers to Christ-likeness (Eph. 4:11-16), and so expand the circle of praise and worship of God (John 12:1-8).

As can be seen from the scripture references, our vision is and should be an extension of Christ’s vision, because He is the Head of the church.

You’ve probably heard the saying, “Misery loves company.” Have you ever heard the saying, “Hope craves a crowd”?  You’ve probably never heard “heaven” used as a swear word either, right?  We don’t swear on hope.  Hope keeps us alive.  Ultimately, our dreams have always outpaced our capacity and usually our reality, but we still dream and encourage others to chase their dreams.  “Follow/Pursue your dreams” is virtually a TV mantra, but have you ever heard someone say on TV to pursue heaven?  Heaven is the ultimate hope, but some people seem to be afraid of talking about it for fear of being labeled a “pie in the sky” person.
